For Rhona Kirk getting on with her life means taking control...

For DCI Jack Carston, putting the puzzle pieces together is a race against time...

Carston searches for the links between all these vanished persons, aware all the time of his own darker impulses and sensing the strong bond between himself and the vigilante. What he finds is beyond even his worst imaginings.

Will Justice remain blind when darkness invades the soul?

What they're saying about it:

"a wonderful, thrilling, dark, compassionate book" (Gillian Philip)

"clever, tightly constructed, immensely satisfying and peopled with a cast of completely believable characters, who don’t let you go until the final word" (Michael J. Malone)

"a dark, intense ride … a book that keeps you guessing right until the exciting conclusion." (P. S. Gifford)

Professor Hayne, of the University of Grampian, Scotland, is a sick man. But when he fails to recover after an operation, the discovery of mistakes in both surgical and anaesthetic procedures suggests that his death was far from accidental. His political manoeuvring had made him many enemies, all of whom would benefit from his death.

DCI Jack Carston is frustrated as hospital staff insist that the two ‘errors’ which killed him couldn’t have happened. As his investigations continue, two other stories unfold, both centred on Sandra Scott, a student in Hayne’s department. She’s being targeted by a stalker and sexually harassed by a member of the departmental staff.

Carston eventually unravels the mystery but even he is surprised by the story’s final twist.

A warts and all look inside academia and the world of medical maneuvering.

What they're saying about it:

University and hospital politics, a suspicious death, a stalker, a salacious lecturer, egotistical doctors, long-suffering nurses, an uptight administrator and a soupcon of sex … a thoroughly engrossing medical mystery with a surprise ending that was totally unexpected. (Chris Longmuir)

The author accurately depicts not only the academic and hospital settings, but the psychosocial motivations between its colorful characters. We also get a creepy look into the mind of the stalker as his offenses escalate.
As in all the best mysteries, the author created a multitude of plausible suspects that kept me guessing throughout, but then pulled off an uncontrived resolution to the `whodunnit' that managed to surprise me. (Melissa Conway)

Joe Lorimer is a genius. His finest achievement is the online role-playing game Alternative Dimension, but he sees it as more than a plaything. He’s fascinated by the freedoms offered by living in a virtual world and the more sophisticated he makes his creation, the more superior it seems to the alienating, faceless, ugly realities of daily life.

His visits reveal many secrets of the psychology of the real people who are creating the avatars he meets. There are lovers, killers, crazies, animals, elves, vampires – even Health and Safety inspectors. Their stories are mostly wry, funny observations on the lives we all live and the real societies they’re lived in.

But Joe’s fascinating attempts to bring the real and virtual together, to fuse the person and the avatar, lead eventually to an outcome which seems a far from ideal solution.

Depending on your perspective, the ending is either a triumph or a tragedy.

Winner of the Humor category in the 2011 Forward National Literature Awards.

Chris Machin isn’t his name, not to the bottom feeders in Aberdeen squabbling over North Sea oil and gas contracts. Chris has a code name, and when his garden explodes The Sparrow takes flight, plunging the power struggle into chaos and violence.

A sociopathic cop and an interfering ex-girlfriend don’t exactly make for clarity of thinking, not when the one fancies a bit of violence to add spice to an arrest. The ex adds other, more interesting dimensions to Chris’ already complicated life.

The bodies pile up—some whole, some in fragments—and two wrestlers join the fray. A road trip seems just the solution, but then so do Inverness, a fishing trawler and a Russian factory ship as the players face … The Sparrow Conundrum.

What they're saying about it:

The demon love child of Spike Milligan and John Le Carre. I absolutely adore this one—hysterically funny, with this weirdly tender wickedness.” (Maria Bustillos)

… combines the elements of the Tall Blond Man with the One Black Shoe with the Biederbecke Affair and thrown in Happer from Local Hero for good measure. It is killingly funny, and for those who love farce—from Scapin to Noises Off—this is utterly brilliant, divine, and classic, and couldn't be bettered.” (M.M. Bennetts)

One of those rare spoofs that made me laugh out loud. think Reservoir Dogs, only better … a fantastically written farce that will entertain and keep you laughing until the very end. A must-have for your collection. (Richard B. Wood)

Steam challenges sail for mastery of the seas, new continents open and the world brims with opportunities for people to be as good—or as evil—as they choose. But in Aberdeen Scotland, tall ships rule and greed by any other name is still commerce.

When the body of a local shipwright is found on the beach, no one, least of all the customers he cheated and the women he abused, seems at all surprised. When the constabulary fail to exercise due diligence it falls to wood-carver, John Grant, to ferret out the secrets and half-truths of the mysterious death. As John scrutinizes the events surrounding the apparent ‘accident’, his wood-carving skills catch the attention of William Anderson, a rich merchant—and his daughter Helen.

His commission to carve a figurehead combining the features of two women results in his discovering startling and interconnected chains of events that confirm his worst suspicions. Intertwined with the evolving tale of blackmail, intrigue and death, John’s relentless pursuit of the truth tests his relationship with everyone he knows and cares about as, simultaneously, he struggles to resist the pangs of unexpected love.

What they're saying about it:

The characters are well-rounded and the dialogue is perfectly judged … How well Kirton writes female characters; this is one of the great strengths of his writing … A rippingly good story. (Ruth Howell)

I cannot recommend this book highly enough. If you are looking for a book that truly entertains you, one of those that you will not hesitate to recommend to friends, do yourself a favor, grab this book. You will not regret it. 5/5, a must read. (Soooz Burke)

A splendid romance of … exquisite tenderness, The Figurehead satisfies on every level, giving the reader authenticity, characters to care about, a mystery, and a romance. (Diane Nelson)

The death of a father is never easy to cope with.

The world isn't being kind to the Grange family, evicting them from their home and taking everything they own. But a strange bequest brings a new roof over their head, even if the house in question is haunted.

As Mandy, William and Jenny adjust to their new life they find they have also inherited a great task. Their father was a guardian of the power hidden in the house and they are expected to follow in his footsteps.

The enemy is already on their trail, seeking the power they know they must protect.

With no knowledge of the magic their father wielded and enemies who can use it all too well, how can they survive? The enemy has already killed their father and is about to knock on their door.

What they're saying about it:

"The family at the center of "House of Silver Magic" is well and truly up against the wall: attempting to recover in the wake of a tragedy, broke and lost with no place to go. When by a strange twist of fate they acquire an old house, their situation improves, but does not necessarily become any less complicated.

This is not your typical YA magic series. This is not your typical haunted house. This is not your typical set of good guys versus bad guys. This is, however, a typical John Booth - with all his attributes of masterful storytelling, surprise and getting his readers well and truly engaged."

"Life for the Grange family is forever altered. Not only are the suffering from the lost of their father, the children and their mother also face the loss of their house, since their father secretly sold it before his death. But, through a seeming twist of fate, the family finds the means and opportunity to buy a grand house, a house full of magic and secrets. It is the magic of the house that will save the Grange family from their enemies.

John Booth writes a type of fantasy fiction that is nothing short of beautiful. This book is full of wonder, and enchantment like few I have encountered before. From the first sentence, the reader is endeared to the Grange family, and wants to see them succeed in their new lives. I found the characters to be incredibly well developed, and especially loved that the house has a character, nee, characters, of its own. It is exciting to watch the children learn of their heritage and discover their powers.

Often, adult fans of young adult books are criticized for relishing in childish stories. I can assure you, while this book will clearly appeal to young adult readers, there is nothing childish about it, and any adult reader can be proud to be a fan. The story is unique, the writing is sublime, and the magic is, well, magical. I am so pleased to learn that this is the first in a new series, and cannot wait to see what lies ahead for the Grange family."

Dream magic is the most dangerous of magics because it is so difficult to control. Apprentice mage Glimmer—Not a Glimmer of Magic—realizes this when he discovers that his apparent lack of magical talent is because his magic manifests only when he is dreaming. His first attempt at dream magery conjures a dragon, and just before dying in dragonfire, Glimmer, in desperation, locks the dragon within the stones of his master’s house. How, though, do you live in a house that is also a dragon? And how can you even sleep—knowing that dream might slip to nightmare?

What they're saying about it:

"The author makes the point that magic is everywhere, in us, and around us, and at the core of everything . . . The dragons, of course, steal the show." --Pauline Ross, Goodreads review

". . . evocative images of a place that 'might have been, long ago and far away' where friendly gnomes and magic are real. But don't be fooled. This is no child's tale. It will challenge the reader to think about the power of thought and attitude and their effect on the place we forge for ourselves in our world." --Yvonne Hertzberger, Amazon review

The Stone Dragon is a fantasy book revolving around the protagonist, Glimmer. At first glance, it may seem like the average fantasy novel, solely about dragons: the fire-breathing monsters who live in caves of solitude and horde massive amounts of treasure. The dragons in this book are much more complex. They are more like divine beings than just physical creatures. Like primal forces of the Universe would be the best way for me to describe them. The elements of fantasy that do show up in The Stone Dragon are refreshingly original in the way they are told and crafted in the story. Gnomes, dragons, and magic would be my prime examples of individuality. --Sebastien Lacasse, Amazon review.

Freya the Huntress by Joseph Lewis

Genre: Fantasy

Price: $2.99

Where to Get It:

Amazon (Kindle)
Amazon UK

This is Book Two in the Europa series, the direct sequel to the novella OMAR THE IMMORTAL. The Europa series is a dark fantasy set in the same world as the Halcyon Trilogy of swashbuckling steampunk adventures.

Last night, Freya's sister was bitten by a horrific beast in the snowy hills of Ysland. Now, Freya has only a few hours to find a cure for this strange plague before her sister becomes a ravening fox demon.

With her husband Erik and the young witch Wren at her side, Freya discovers that the blood-thirsty monsters have already ravaged her homeland as she explores deserted cities full of ghosts and meets a few lonely survivors on the edge of madness. She finally seeks answers in the ancient city of Rekavik where she must face the deadly witch queen Skadi and the vicious warrior Leif Blackmane.

But the only person who can cure the demon plague is the same person who created it, a stranger from a distant land who carried a sword full of captured souls, a man who was murdered five years ago... But not even death will stop Freya from saving the people she loves.

What they're saying about it:

"I've been waiting for Europa #2 for awhile. Having Omar stuck on Ysland I couldn't wait to find out more about the sun steel. Mr. Lewis has definitely created a mythology with this metal and you can't help but want to know more about it. What's even better, the stories are not about the sun steel but you get tidbits of it throughout this and all the Other Earth books.

I really enjoy the effort Mr. Lewis has put in to even using small language elements to immerse yourself in the environment more. The way the characters speak feel different on Ysland as opposed to the mainland. Given that the first book, Omar, were all characters from the mainland, this is the first time that the difference becomes apparent.

Love the new characters. Freya is now the second best bad-ass heroine next to Asha. Can't wait for the third book. We get a mythological werefox and based on the teaser for Book 3 something that sounds like frozen zombies."--Amazon Reviewer

Hemingway Man by Jim Maher

Type: Novella

Genre: Young Adult

Price: $2.99

Where to Get It:

Espressobooks
Amazon (Kindle)

Sixteen-year-old Will has just lost his father. With no one else to guide him towards manhood, he follows the teachings of Ernest Hemingway:

1. Plant a tree.
2. Write a book.
3. Fight a bull
4. Have a son.

Good luck with that.

***

Hemingway Man is a fast-paced 50,000 word coming-of-age novella with plenty of laughs and a gripping larger-than-life narrative. Will is an instantly likeable narrator as he embarks upon his "man quest". But even Task 1 proves more hazardous than he'd expected:

***

I had the Douglas Fir cone in my pocket and took it out very carefully. It was a little squashed from when I had to run away from the bear, but looked every bit as manly a cone as I could have hoped for. I bent down into the hole and made a cone-sized pit with my fingers. This was it, the moment of truth. My first step down the path to manhood was about to be completed.

I heard a rustle.

There was something in the forest.

What they're saying about it:

“This was a truthful and soulful look at a boy turning into a man and how he navigates loss. Really funny yet raw and sometimes painful, I can imagine this being a great read for all kinds of folks.”

“Hemingway Man is a charming coming-of-age story about teenage Will who has recently lost his father and believes it is now up to him to become the man of the house. A true character-driven story, the tale is both relatable and engaging and presents a very real picture of a normal family going through a challenging time.

The author shows a true facility with words and writes with a fresh and entertaining style. He evokes images and memories with ease and makes you laugh through your tears. It is a great read for anyone who faced real trials as a teenager and worked hard to come through those challenges, however misguided the efforts might be. What starts out as a sad story of loss actually becomes a story of hope and love - the
angst and zeal of youth all wrapped up in one lovely novella.”

Price: $2.99

Where to Get It:

Half of DC Police Detective Ezra Simeon’s face is immobilized from a persistent case of Bell’s Palsy—he must drink through a straw and eat carefully to avoid chewing through his own cheek. He has been detailed from robbery to the cold case department while he heals.

“How odd to dream with one eye open, like having one foot in reality,” Sim muses in the dark, bluesy vein that is typical of his Chandler-esque narration. “That’s what makes dreaming dangerous and why I moved my gun farther from the bed.”

Detective Simeon’s half-frozen world begins to heat up when a friend from his Academy days drops dead of a heart attack, and Sim is tapped to replace him, detailed now to homicide, where he inherits the high-profile case of a murdered escort he alone thinks may be the victim of a serial killer.

What they're saying about it:

"A relentless tour of DCs most crime-ridden streets, with many beautifully written surprises, and darker than the deepest noir."~Madison Smartt Bell

"Swinson writes with the soul of a poet more than a policeman mining memories.
His style is fluid and sharp, his protagonist, Detective Ezra Simeon, is, in the
Nordic style, complicated, brooding and introspective."--Tim Grobaty, Long Beach Press Telegram

"From corner boys to call girls, Swinson sketches his characters with the authority
of a seasoned detective who knows every alley in town."--David Jamison, award-winning journalist & author of Mint Condition

What they're saying about it:

"An excellent collection of short fiction. The author takes you skillfully but entertainingly to where he wants you to be. A twist in every tale, some spottable but a few suprises. All adeptly written. An excellent effort all round didn't want to put it down. My only complaint, not enough of it.

Days of Vengeance by Tim Kizer

Genre: Horror

Price: $0.99

Where to Get It:

Amazon (Kindle)

With the last six years of his life wiped out of his memory, Frank begins to suspect he may have murdered his wife Kelly, who went missing three days before the car crash that caused his amnesia. While struggling to remember his wife and the events surrounding her disappearance, Frank is shocked to find out that Kelly's family has the same suspicions as he does.

As his memories trickle back to him, Frank is still unable to figure out why he has slaughtered his wife. Things take a darker turn when the in-laws give him to understand that they will stop at nothing to make him remember what he has done to their beloved sister.

Frank's search for answers becomes a fight for survival after he rediscovers that his wife's relatives are a clique of serial kidnappers serving a mysterious one-legged man.

However, the question still remains: Why are these people so hell-bent on getting hold of Kelly's dead body?

His options are limited: he either finds his wife--dead or alive--or dies. In his race against time Frank has all the clues to the puzzle, he just has to remember them before itÆs too late.

What they're saying about it:

"I loved this book. A friend recommended it to me and I read it in one day since the story immediately sucked me in and I couldn't wait to find out what happens next. The novel is well written, has plenty of twists and keeps a fast pace. There are a lot of exciting moments in "Days of Vengeance" that grab your attention.
The book focuses on a thirty-something man named Frank, whose wife went missing under suspicious circumstances. Unfortunately, Frank lost his memory a few days after his wife's disappearance and now is unsure whether he murdered her. A few shocking twists await the reader in the very beginning of the novel. For example, we find out that Frank's wife's relatives are psychopathic killers. But I must say that this is not a book about serial killers; this novel is much more complex and intricate than that. There are many more secrets ahead, each more stunning than the previous one. The ending of the novel left me absolutely speechless.

In conclusion, I would like to say that I enjoyed "Days of Vengeance" a lot and am glad I bought it. It's definitely worth your time."--Amazon Reviewer

Katerina Carter's fraud investigation uncovers a massive blood diamond laundering scheme at Liberty Diamond Mines, just as two key Liberty insiders are murdered. Kat could be next-unless she allows the real criminals to walk free. Kat is framed for the murders just as she uncovers a link to organized crime. She must solve the case-her career and Liberty's survival depend on it. So does her life.

“Exit Strategy is a fantastic first in a thriller series by debut author, Colleen Cross. I had an immediate affinity for protagonist, Katerina “Kat” Carter, who is a forensic accountant ironically down her to last few pennies. When she takes on a questionable case because she desperately needs the money, she learns the hard way that when something smells, it’s probably rotten to the core. We’re talking blood diamonds, arms trading and more. Kat is a tough cookie, but she isn’t exactly Arnold Schwarzenegger – is she in over her head? Cross draws the reader into this smart financial thriller with skilled expertise, providing just the right amount of action and surprising twists to keep the pages turning.”
-- Karen Cantwell, author of the Barbara Marr Murder Mysteries – Take the Monkeys and Run, Citizen Insane, Silenced by the Yams

“An international tale of diamonds, danger and disappearance, Exit Strategy gripped me from page one and kept me flipping pages long after I wanted to be asleep. Kat is a cool heroine - quirky, compassionate, and killer smart when she gets down to business. I love this combination of fast-paced adventure and human frailty.”
--Robin Spano, author of the Clare Vengel Undercover Novels – Dead Politician Society, Death Plays Poker

What they're saying about it:

"I really enjoyed this book. I liked that Katerina Carter was a strong character and smart too. Learned a lot about the illegal diamond trade. Hope Colleen Cross continues with more stories like this one."

"I'd recommend Colleen Cross's Exit Strategy especially to readers looking for a page-turning thriller with lots of action and memorable characters. I'm definitely looking forward to the next book in the Kat Carter series!"

"I saw a tweet about Exit Strategy by Colleen Cross and decided to pick it up. The characters are great in the story you really feel like you know them by the end of the book. The pace and suspense were genuine and I couldn't put the book down. I ended up reading it in a single day. That rarely happens for me. If you like character driven stories with suspense, you will not be disappointed. I highly recommend Exit Strategy and can't wait for more books in the Katerina Carter suspense series"

Nicknamed the Great Birdman, Ravi steps forward and exposes his true identity—a real risk during edgy, vigilante times of prohibition. A brave move—but will his Suparna abilities be enough to snuff out this fierce demon?

What they're saying about it:

"Moore throws us into an intriguing and vivid word where divine beings scrape by as performers in a depression-era-style circus. The plot is minimal: defeat the villain, get the girl. But the fantasy world is wonderful and I can only hope there might be longer stories to come, in this same setting?" ~Emily Veinglory, POD People

“Le Cirque De Magie offers a classic story line with a supernatural twist. The rich imagery instantly transports you to a circus of the 1920's. A fun read!” ~Lauren,

Blurb: The last thing zaftig middle-aged journalist, Rhoda Ginsburg, expected when she signed up for JDate was to fall in love with a vampire. But when she meets drop-dead gorgeous Sheldon, a Hasidic vampire, she falls hard. She rationalizes that he may not be alive, but at least he’s Jewish.

She learns that back in the nineteenth century Sheldon was a rabbi who was turned into a vampire by Count Dracula, an anti-Semite who got his kicks from turning Orthodox Jews into vampires because then they’d have to drink blood, which isn’t kosher.

Soon after she meets Sheldon, she discovers her beloved mother, Fanny, is terminally ill, so she comes up with the crackpot idea of getting Sheldon to turn Fanny and her friends, known as “the goils,” into vampires. Once she becomes a vampire, Fanny tires of her boring life in Century Village, Florida, and, seeking thrills, she goes clubbing and disappears into the nightlife of South Beach in Miami. When Fanny and her goil posse “go rogue” and start preying on the young, Rhoda and Sheldon must track them down to keep them from killing again.

Interview with a Jewish Vampire turns vampire lore on its head, proving that not all vampires are young and beautiful and it IS possible to be undead and kosher.

What they're saying about it:

Erica Manfred's wry humor is the perfect match for the sexy-vampire genre in this novel about the emotional intricacies of dating a hot Jewish guy who is a card-carrying member of the undead. Delicious!"--Nancy Peske, coauthor of the bestselling Cinematherapy series, Meditations for Men Who Do Next to Nothing (And Would Like to Do Even Less) and How to Satisfy a Woman Every Time on $5 a Day.

"Bloodaholics! Only Erica could think of this! And PETA! Clever, clever, -clever."--Avigayil Lansmann, Torah scholar, artist, author and contributor to The Meta Arts Magazine.

"With wild irreverent humor, Erica Manfred's Interview With a Jewish Vampire turns upside down and sideways all the vampire cliches and stock images. Jewish vampires keeping kosher, old lady vampires on the prowl--this book is above all fun!"--Rachel Pollack, author of Arthur C. Inside an old German U-Boat rusting on the bottom of the Baltic are millions in gold bars, stolen art and jewels, and a secret that could tear NATO apart. The only one who knows the truth is Mike Randall, a battle-scarred American who survived four months in the frozen Hell of northern Germany at the end of the war. When he does speak up, he puts a target on his own forehead, one which the Russians, the West Germans, the U-boat’s former owners, the Israeli Mossad, and even his own government quickly take aim at. Some want the gold, some want him dead, and some want proof about a high-ranking spy inside NATO itself. Randall’s wants are much simpler. Caught between the Kremlin and a new, deadly, 4th Reich, he wants revenge and to satisfy some old debts with a steel-jacketed bullet.

What they're saying about it:

“Great Cold War Thriller! This was a very suspenseful, edge-of-your seat thriller about the closing days of World War II. The story was exciting and engaging and really reminded me of some of the books written by Alistair MacLean that I read years ago. There was also a strong Tom Clancy feel in the machinations of the various spies (but without Clancy's techno-jargon). If you are looking for a Cold War thriller, this one was very engaging."--Kathy Martin

“A Must Read for Historical Fiction and Suspense Fans! I really enjoyed this story of Mike Randall and the U-Boat from Nazi Germany. The story had a very realistic feel to it. It made me want to go out and research some of the people listed in it . . . The descriptions of the Nazi SS guys had me cringing . . . Overall, this would be a great pick for history and suspense buffs. It felt real, like the author stole the idea from a headline news story!"--The Alaska Bookie

“Redemption in the Good, Bad and Ugly Remnants of WWII! No, this is not just another war story! William Brown takes the reader to the heights and dregs of the human condition, giving glimpses to the motives and relationships that are ruled by head and heart. This is a story that speeds along like a Ken Follett or Eric Ludlum novel of old. For those who love adventure, thrills, and mystery with a tinge of romance, this novel will leave you breathless and wanting more from this skillful writer. Splendidly written!"--Crystal Book Reviews

Where to Get It:

“The Gilmore Girls meet Buffy the Vampire Slayer”

Fifteen year old Goth-chic Ellie has a lot of explaining to do. She’s just moved to the small town of Troy, fought with her uptight mother Helen, met the boy of her dreams and found a dead body on her sexy “new-age” grandmother Helena’s porch. All on the first night!

But Ellie’s not alone. Helen is hiding something. Helen knows all about the kind of eerie dreams her daughter is having — the dreams that show the whereabouts of the missing children of Troy — because she’s had them herself. But she’ll never admit it. Not while Ellie’s sex-crazed friend Ryan is safely behind bars for the murders. Helen knows what it’s like to be attracted to dangerous men.

Then there’s the little matter between Helena and Gaspar Bonvillaine, the teenaged vampire who is learning to feed on young prey. Now that he’s caught Ellie, he doesn’t know whether he wants to kill her or turn her to the dark side and keep her forever. Helena should have finished him off when she had the chance.

To survive the vampire feeding frenzy surrounding them, mom Helen needs to come to terms with her own insecurities and deal with the gifts she has. Helena must learn to ground herself for the good of mankind and more importantly her own family. And Ellie has the toughest choice of all. Ellie must decide whether its time to let her own childhood go and become the woman she is destined to be, one of the ageless and timeless “Helens of Troy”.

What they're saying about it:

"Janine McCaw's newest novel, Helens-of-Troy, is populated by a wonderfully alive group of characters that you meet and come to care about within the first two pages. You'll meet a mother, her daughter and teen age granddaughter, all with the name Helen ( And, coincidentally, they live in a town called Troy.) I won't give away details of the plot, but the action is non-stop. The three women deal with their all-to-human inter-family struggles; and their story is beautifully interwoven with a much more esoteric one. You'll experience the angst of teenage relationships, meet some lost children and some very bad vampires. McCaw gives us witty, clever dialog on nearly every page and some good laughs when you least expect them. The many clues you're given throughout the book come together in a fast and furious climax.
I highly recommend The Helens to anyone who enjoys vampire sagas, the paranormal, or just a good story."--Amazon Reviewer

What they're saying about it:

"I found this story very romantic and very exciting, it had me guessing at times which is also a plus. My only complaints are that at times it was a little lengthy and also I am hoping there is a follow up story for Chris."

"I don't normally read romance books but I know the author is someone local, and I believe this to be her first published book so I decided to buy it. It is well written, historically correct, and kept me reading until the end. Looking forward to her next book!"

"Loved this book - tropical breezes, lusty love scenes, murder, and mystery - this book has it all. Anne and Alex really come alive on the pages as we follow them on their journey to love. Story did not drag and kept my attention with a good mix of love and intrigue. Would like to know more about Alex's friends. Did Chris fall in love with Anne's sister? Hope there is a sequel."
