"I have been looking for a new author for a while after having caught up with all of Patterson's and Child's novels, and heard about this new debut. Thought I would give it a go, and I certainly wasn't disappointed! Fast paced and gripping, it is one of those books that you are desperate to discover the next twist or turn (of which there are many, and of the variety that you don't see coming..), it is one of those books that you don't want to put down: 'I'll just read a bit more to find out how that turns out'. This definitely compares well with the previous mentioned authors and to be honest is much better than the last Patterson novel I read, where I had worked out the twist half-way through. Simon Gould managed to ensure that I wasn't able to do that with this book. Much more accomplished than you would expect from a debut novel, this is more like a sure footed stamp on the genre that you would expect from a much more established author.
