Detective Patton of the LAPD has been targeted by a serial killer named The Chemist as the starting point for each game the killer is playing. He does not know why. Two girls are already dead and a third has only twenty four hours to live. For Detective Patton, this is a game he must win.

What they're saying about it:

"There are plenty of twists in this detective thriller to keep you entertained. The chapters are short, like [Patterson) some of the more established thriller writers, and the storyline is compelling. A new author for me and well worth a read. Set in LA it harks of Harry Bosch in parts, and that cant be a bad thing for any thriller. The Chemist is a seriel killer, stalking the city, and this talented new author describes the journey with skillful story writing. Well worth a try."--Amazon UK reviewer

"I have been looking for a new author for a while after having caught up with all of Patterson's and Child's novels, and heard about this new debut. Thought I would give it a go, and I certainly wasn't disappointed! Fast paced and gripping, it is one of those books that you are desperate to discover the next twist or turn (of which there are many, and of the variety that you don't see coming..), it is one of those books that you don't want to put down: 'I'll just read a bit more to find out how that turns out'. This definitely compares well with the previous mentioned authors and to be honest is much better than the last Patterson novel I read, where I had worked out the twist half-way through. Simon Gould managed to ensure that I wasn't able to do that with this book. Much more accomplished than you would expect from a debut novel, this is more like a sure footed stamp on the genre that you would expect from a much more established author. Am certainly looking forward to reading more...."--Amazon UK reviewer
